Flood Warning issued September 28 at 2:03AM EDT expiring September 28 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood warning for Prince Georges, MD; Howard, MD; Baltimore City, MD; Carroll, MD; Harford, MD; Anne Arundel, MD; Baltimore, MD starting on 9/27/2018 11:03:00 PM. NWS estimates this event is ‘likely’ to happen and the event is categorized as ‘severe.’

The best action to take according to The National Weather Service is to avoid the area. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

  • Flood Warning for:
    Southeastern Carroll County in north central Maryland
    Baltimore City in northern Maryland
    Northern Anne Arundel County in central Maryland
    Eastern Howard County in central Maryland
    Harford County in northern Maryland
    Baltimore County in northern Maryland
    Northeastern Prince Georges County in central Maryland
  • Until 800 AM EDT.
  • At 200 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
    flooding. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen, with
    additional heavier rain moving through between 2 and 5 AM likely
    producing another 1 to 2 inches of rain.
