The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

  • Tornado Warning for:
    Central Leake County in central Mississippi
    Northwestern Neshoba County in east central Mississippi
  • Until 545 AM CST.
  • At 455 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
    was located 7 miles south of Thomastown, or 8 miles west of
    Carthage, moving east at 45 mph.
    HAZARD Tornado.
    SOURCE Radar indicated rotation.
    IMPACT Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
    shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
    Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
    damage is likely.
